Artists Dave and Boni Deal will give educational classes and demonstrations of the raku firing process on Thursday, Feb. 14, at Wenatchee Valley College in the ceramics studio, Wells Hall, on the Wenatchee campus. This event is open to the public.

Visual presentations will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. At 2:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., Boni Deal will demonstrate surface preparation and glazing techniques, and Dave Deal will demonstrate a throw-coiling method for large pots on a potter's wheel. He will also demonstrate the raku firing process at 2:15 p.m. Demonstration times are flexible.

The cost is free for WVC students with student ID, and $20 per person at the door for the public.

The Deals have been creating ceramics at their studio in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest for 35 years. Their work will be featured in the Spring 2013 Ceramic Showcase at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland and is available at The Real Mother Goose Gallery in Portland.
